About Carlina

Carlina Grey has been passionate about horses virtually her entire life . Having spent the majority of her youth in and around barns and equine facilities, Carlina gained priceless knowledge and hands-on experience, and she excelled. At age 12 she began competing, first in 4-H and state rodeo associations, and later in three 4-H State Finals and the State & National Finials of the High School Rodeo Association.

For two years. Carlina’s mentor in barrel racing was IPRA and NBHA World Champion barrel racer Jane Melby, at Los Gauchos Ranch, in Backus, Minnesota . She also studied dressage and a bit of jumping. Throughout her competing experience, she observed the benefits of natural horsemanship training, and adapted it to fit all her riding and teaching techniques. Carlina also learned the great benefits that therapeutic massage and physical therapy can provide for a horse and human.

Later, while living and working in horse-rich Ocala, Florida, she studied equine sports massage under racing great Don Doran, and worked at Jacks or Better Farms, Inc. She then moved to Seattle, WA to complete the Large Animal Massage Practitioner Licensing courses.

Carlina has been teaching professionally since the age of 18. She has safe, progressive, and fun teaching techniques, which draw from a diverse range of equine knowledge and experience. The enthusiasm Carlina has for learning about horses is truly contagious. She inspires confidence and teaches patience in every lesson.
