The last few years I have had a blast designing and teaching day camps for the City of Redmond, Farrel-McWither Park and Carousel Ranch, Bothell. I’m proud to announce I will be having day camps at my own ranch this summer in Bothell. Being a child of the suburbs, one of my first experiences with horses was a great horse camp. At that camp I found a passion in working with horses that would later grow into a hobby and career I truly love. One of the main goals of my camps is to give each student that same chance I had to find a life-long passion. I personalize each student's curriculum to their own individual interests in the world of horses. I emphasize the joys of reaching personal goals and how horses can share those experiences and accomplishments with you.

Cowgirl Camper

We have a great bunch of horses that absolutely adore the students. Our horses have a diverse history of experience and training. We use a natural horsemanship training and teaching approach to promote mutual respect and communication between horse and rider. There is a wide range of breeds and colors to suite all experience levels.

Our Camps are full of ‘on the farm’ fun. With chickens, ducks, cats, miniature horses, goats and - coming soon - a donkey.

Action packed days with an abundance of fun material to learn and experience. All our games use educational material that involves horses or farm animals. We play games such as Barn Yard Scavenger Hunt, Painted Pony Color Quest, Wrangler On The Range, Ride Around the World, Grand Prix Giddy Up, Dressage-a-thon, Tower of Tack and many more.

There are great prizes for all, and chances to win private lessons.

We offer adorable ‘Old Time’ Photo Sessions. Students can pick between an authentic old west setting, old english setting or a Princess setting with a unicorn (Flea the horse with a horn). It includes, two group pictures without horses; and four different individual pictures, two with horses. We'll send a flyer with your registration materials to individualize your photo package further.

There will be a horse show and award ceremony Fridays at 3:00 p.m.; parents, friends and relatives are welcome!

We work with the horses twice a day for up to two hours each session. The students will…

  • Catch, lead and tie their own horse
  • Groom, feed and help with the daily tasks of caring for a horse
  • Give their horse a bath (weather permitting)
  • Saddle and bridle their own horse
  • Mount and dismount with help
  • Ride in the arena and on an enclosed trail
  • Learn the different colors and breeds of horses
  • Learn about different types of riding and competing
  • Learn the names and uses of different pieces of tack (horse equipment)
  • Have an ‘Old Time’ photo session
  • Make neat horse crafts and play horse games
  • Maybe even learn to toss a lariat or hypnotize a chicken

What to Bring

  • Please bring a good lunch and a few snacks. Having this much fun uses a lot of energy. We work up an appetite!
  • Please dress according to the weather. We run rain or shine. There are sheltered areas we will call 'base camp' that are covered and provide shelter from the rain. There arel also warming stations with heaters and hot apple cider & coco or cooling stations with ice water, lemonade and popsicles.
  • We have overhead sprinklers in the arena so on hot days we take a break and run through them after our ride, so please bring a swimsuit and towel on those hot days.
  • Boots or riding shoes are required. The boot has to have a heel two inches or more to help keep the student's feet from slipping through the stirrups.
  • Long Pants are also best for riding to prevent saddle sores. If it’s hot the student can wear shorts and bring riding pants to change into before we work with the horses.
  • Hand sanitizer and sunscreen are good to have being outside around horses.
